Record Company tells Lady Gaga to take a month off on 30 Apr 2009 by Addie
Since bursting onto the scene last year US singer Lady Gaga has been one of the music world's most visible performers, appearing on numerous occasions in the UK as well as on her home turf Stateside.
However, the double chart topper – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - has been told by her record company to take time out if she wants to avoid burn out. It's suggesting a month-long break in August in order to give her the chance to recover from the recent heavy workload.
"Stefani has been working relentlessly since last summer," a source told the Sun. "She has criss-crossed the globe on numerous occasions…and the pressure has now started to get to her."
The cancellation of the singer's August commitments will provide a welcome break for the 23-year-old. As well as playing Glastonbury in June, she's got a series of own concerts lined up and will also be supporting Take That on four of their stadium gigs

Lady GaGa arrives at fellow singer Mika’s house, and wears a pair of thigh length lace-up boots in London, England on Monday (April 20).
The 23-year-old singer might have felt a draft, as her backside got up and personal with photographers.
In the UK, Lady GaGa’s Pokerface, held onto the third slot with Pussycat Dolls (Jai Ho) and Ciara/Justin Timberlake in 4th and 5th place respectively. (Calvin Harris was number one, while La Roux was number two.)

Lady Gaga refuses to answer to her real name.
The 'Poker Face' singer - whose original moniker is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - was given her stage name by her manager when she was 19 and that is the only name she will respond to.
The 23-year-old star said: "Lady Gaga was a nickname given to me by my manager and it's stuck. I started using it properly when I was 19 as I was fed up with people yelling about 800 names at my every day.
So I just told everyone call me Gaga, it makes it much easier as that way I know who everyone is talking to."
The blonde star - who is famed for her outrageous fashion sense - also revealed classical music inspired her to pursue a chart career.
The 'Just Dance' hitmaker says classical songs are very similar to the layout of pop tunes and wanted to pen hits after hearing the work of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach.
She said: "Pop music is very similar to classical music. If you listen to Bach you'll hear all his tunes go the same way as a pop record. It helped me to become a good songwriter."

Sorry, guys; teacup enthusiast Lady GaGa is apparently spoken for.
In Touch reports that the "Poker Face" singer has herself a new man, in the form of a 23-year-old Los Angeles entrepreneur named, simply, Speedy.
The two are said to have met on the set of the video for GaGa's "Love Game." According to the magazine, the pair began dating about a month ago, and Speedy expressed his love for his new woman by planting a wet one on her on the Malibu set of her video "Paparazzi" on April 12. The next day, the young lovebirds were spotted getting cozy at Katsuya in Brentwood, California, where the two were "all over each other, cuddling in the corner," according to an eyewitness.
"They were just friends for a while, but recently things got serious," says an insider. "They have a lot in common and are totally crazy about each other."
GaGa has even apparently asked her new squire to join her on her Fame tour, which runs through September.
"He makes her really happy, and they are having fun right now," says the source.
Sounds like the foundation for lasting bliss. And at least this Speedy character will never have to worry about who wears the pants in their relationship.
